Illuminate hosts annual Halloween party

Members of Illuminate, a student organization at SSU, hosted their annual Halloween party on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Innermission Campus Ministry. There were a lot of people and activities at the party. There were plenty of snacks, a foosball table, a pool table, spooky music to enjoy and a group of students playing card games.

Leaders of the Shawnee State University student organization Illuminate invite their fellow SSU students to join them Nov. 17-19 for SpiritFest, a weekend retreat at Cumberland Falls in Kentucky. The trip involves hiking, devotionals and chances to worship God and connect with others.

SSU’s Spanish Club provides a community for speakers and students of Spanish

Shawnee State University students who speak Spanish or want to learn to speak Spanish can find a community in SSU’s Spanish Club. This club meets in Massie 435 each Monday at 12:30 p.m.

SSU’s Creative Writing Club offers supportive community

For Shawnee State students who love writing and want to improve their writing abilities, there is a club they can join for this very purpose. The Creative Writing Club offers students a place to share their written works and provide constructive feedback to each other. Students can learn more about writing, share their writing or hear examples of creative writing from other students. The club meets in Massie 109 from 4-5 p.m. every other Friday. Shawnee State University students in the Circle K International Club use their time and talents to help others and support the community. The community service club, a sister organization to Kiwanis and Key Club, offers students a chance to make friends and do good for the community.
